We know you are already thinking about your baby’s bathing suit and bloomers. While you’re still shivering, we have already started planning your baby’s fall outfit. Recently, we visited Playtime New York in order to get the inside scoop on the colors that will be used on cozy knits for your baby’s sweatsuits and tiny booties this fall. We love grey and neutrals, but we also spotted some warm, vibrant colors that are perfect for autumn. If you are expecting in the fall, prepare for your little one to wear a variety of colors that will warm your heart and brighten your cooler months. ).
Here are seven brands that will give your baby’s F/W17 world a fiery hue.
- Donsje Amsterdam. You’ve come to the right place if you are looking for the perfect baby shoe. Donsje, an Amsterdam-based brand, has booties that will cover your baby’s toes from infancy through toddlerhood. They would make a beautiful and practical first shoe for a toddler or shower gift. There are soft sole options available for newborns, and rubber soles to accommodate new walkers. What’s our favorite? The animal booties, in softest nubuck leather, are “nostalgic but with a twist”. The fur-lined Mary Jane is also a favorite. These classics are not your ordinary shoes. They come in rich colors like caramel, berry and walnut. See the latest collection here. Geometry Kids is bringing the collection to Brooklyn this fall.
- Rylee and cru. Rylee and Cru has always been a favorite. Rylee & Cru, created by Kelli Murray (mother and illustrator), combines art and imagination. It offers quality basics in whimsical prints with a vintage feel. The sizes range from 3 month to 8-9 year olds. The sweatsuits are always available in different prints and colors. The FW17 print features the cutest foxes dressed in frost. The FW17 print will feature the cutest foxes in frost!
- Goose Grease. Goose Grease, a Brooklyn-based company run by husband and wife team Juan Carlos and Anna Leigh Donado, is committed to fair trade. Their wooden doll collections are the perfect nursery décor item. The peg dolls are painted by Leigh and Carlos Donado, both artists. These dolls are the perfect way to add color and detail in any nursery. The “Children of the World Set of Four” is our favorite. There are also DIY peg dolls for kids. This is a great gift for the older sibling to keep them occupied while baby sleeps. Goose Greece is adding knitted crocheted doll clothes for next fall to keep the dolls warm!
- Gray Label. Gray Label offers the softest essentials in sizes 0-8. Emily Gray, a designer from Amsterdam and mother of three, says, “We use only the softest, 100% organic fabrics to ensure everyday comfort, practicality, and ease.” Gray Label releases new styles and colors every season. There are two options for the baby’s outfit to go home. Gray Label pants and t-shirts are wardrobe staples for all ages, including babies, toddlers, and older kids. Colors for FW ’17 look amazing! The best colors are a bright, cheery mustard and rich navy with a fun, but not too bright burgundy!
- Lucas du Tertre. A statement baby blanket is a must-have for every nursery. It can be hung on the crib, rocker or even on the wall. When baby is sleeping, he should not be able to move around loose bedding. Lucas du Tertre offers a wide range of options. The cotton prints, which are designed in France and ethically produced in India, are both whimsical and classic. The cotton sheets and baby quilts add sophistication to any space. They are thick enough for the baby to play and kick on. The multicolor star and owl prints are our favorites. Look out for the black baby blanket with florals in coral, red and blue. Keep an eye out for the coolest hats and scarves for boys in this fall.
6. Baby Bites. Baby bites makes sleeping bags for kids and babies that are both fun and functional. The sleeping bags are available in both summer and winter weights, and in two sizes: for bebes from 1 to 12 months old and ninos from 2 to 6 years. Baby Bites, a Barcelona-based company, aims to “make people laugh wherever they go”. The sleeping bags are designed in the shape of fish and can be used as a play mat for babies, stroller bunting or for the first sleepover for your child. The sleeping bags are also great for photo ops, such as baby’s first months photo shoots. They can show how much bigger he is next to the fish. The sleeping bags come in a rainbow of colors, including mustard, emerald green, stone pink, and mint.
- Tia Cibani Kids. Tia Cibani Kids was awarded the “Pirouette One to Watch Award” at Playtime NY. This line is fashion-forward and eclectic. The original children’s line was aimed at kids aged 2-14, but has now expanded to include items for babies. This fall, look out for the knitted romper that will be perfect for your little fashionista. Black skirt/blouse combos and ribbon tiered dresses will make an impressive entrance at a special event. The parkas with bright colors are our favorites. We like the maca, a yellow-green color. These brighten up a cold winter’s day. To spice up the looks of your children, buy him a felt Fedora and her a tulle headband or pom-pom headband.
